Welcome to the Old Portmuthian Club. The OP Club's principal activity is facilitating contacts between former pupils of The Portsmouth Grammar School. The Club also publishes magazines and newsletters, organises social events in Portsmouth and elsewhere, and provides financial support to current and former pupils of PGS via the OP Charity.

The OP Club website has been designed in line with modern Internet technologies (XHTML, CSS, DOM) but your browser does not appear to properly support some of the required features.

So that you are not at a disadvantage, you will still see all of the information content but in a less organised form. However, you will have a better browsing experience if you upgrade to a modern browser.

Site redesign in 2005

Reasons for the change

As you can see the OP Club web site has undergone a design update. The old style (white text on the dark blue background) has been used since the site launched in Summer 2000. A number of OPs have commented the text is not always easy to read, especially the yellow text used to display links.

So, after five years an new, fresher, easier to read design is being applied. Initially all index pages and new content will use the new design. Archived pages will not be updated, although this may happen if requested.

Please let us know what you think of the new design by completing the feedback form. Remember, the site can only improve if we receive your comments!

You may wish to read the guide on how to use the site.
