How to use this site
Links
All links within the white background areas of each page are denoted in red. As you hover over the links, they will be underlined.
Within the blue menu bar at the top of each page, the links are in white, and again are underlined when you hover over them.
The black text on the light blue menu bar on the left are links. As you hover over the links, a light gray box appears around the text. The current page is indicated by the bold text and ">>" on a white background.
We try to ensure all our link text is written to make sense out of context.
We have used title attributes where appropriate to give further information about the target of a link.
Top menu bar
The dark blue menu bar appears on all page and provides links to the main areas of the site. Unlike the rest of the site, the links are displayed in white to make them easier to read.
RSS feed
The last link/icon on the menu bar is for the OP Club RSS feed. By accessing the RSS feed you will automatically be notified of any updates to the site.
For this you will need a "News Reader" software, freely available. However, a number of browsers are now available incorporating RSS functionality. Depending on the software you are using, drag the orange icon to your News Reader software, or click the link and paste the URL into your News Reader software.
If you are new to RSS feeds, the BBC News help on RSS feeds provides a simple explanation.
Side menu bar
The light blue menu on the left of each screen is divided into a number of boxes. The last three will always be "Latest News", "Popular links" and "Useful features".
Depending on the page and the area of the site, there may be boxes above the "Latest News" box. The top most one provides links to other pages within the same small area of the site. For example, if you are reading a 2005 Newsletter the top box will show links to all the 2005 Newsletters that have already been published.
Other "similar" links are provided in one or more other boxes. These are provided so you can easily navigate to similar pages, without frequently having to use your browser's "back" button.
"Latest News" provides links to the most recent updates to the site. It is displayed on a white background to stand out. Click the "Latest News" link to see a list of the recent updates. The other text in the box are also links, taking you straight to the information.
"Popular links" does just what its name suggests. These are some of the most popular pages on the site. They are provided here to quick access. If you think other pages should appear in the "Popular links" box, please let us know.
Finally, "Useful features" allows you to alter the text size of the site, along with printing the page or emailing a link to a fellow OP. Full instructions on how to use "Useful features" are available within the help section.
Breadcrumb trail
We provide a breadcrumb trail feature above the main content of each page to show you the path from the home page to where you are in the site.
Main page content
The page heading appears after the breadcrumb trail, with a single blue line as a separator. The page content is then displayed after a double blue line.
The end of the content is signalled by a single blue line. After the line there is a link to the copyright and disclaimer notice, and the date the page was last updated.
