Welcome to the Old Portmuthian Club. The OP Club's principal activity is facilitating contacts between former pupils of The Portsmouth Grammar School. The Club also publishes magazines and newsletters, organises social events in Portsmouth and elsewhere, and provides financial support to current and former pupils of PGS via the OP Charity.

The OP Club website has been designed in line with modern Internet technologies (XHTML, CSS, DOM) but your browser does not appear to properly support some of the required features.

So that you are not at a disadvantage, you will still see all of the information content but in a less organised form. However, you will have a better browsing experience if you upgrade to a modern browser.

Oxford Dining Club

The 2006 Oxford Dinner will take place on Friday 5 May 2006.

I am pleased to announce that we are making a number of changes to the dinner arrangements, which we hope will meet with general approval.

The recent practice of encouraging OPs to bring spouses and other guests will be continued. We will now be inviting all OPs, not just those with a connection with Oxford; we will be dining at a wider range of colleges; and we will be developing activities earlier in the day for those who wish to participate. In addition, we would like to encourage those who have the opportunity to enjoy a day or perhaps an overnight stay in Oxford as part of the dining experience. Finally, we will be moving the dinner to a May fixture, which it is believed will allow a larger number of OPs to attend.

The next dinner will therefore take place on the evening of 5 May 2006, at Green College. Prof. Jeff Burley will preside and will also be offering a tour of the Radcliffe Observatory beforehand for those who are interested. Prices are not yet fixed, but there will be a continuing effort to keep prices as low as possible. Formal invitations will be issued nearer the time, but you are welcome to reserve places now. Contact details are below. It would be very helpful to conduct all possible communications by e-mail in order to keep costs down. If you are in touch with OPs who have not previously attended the Oxford dinners, please do pass on these details. Experience suggests that the dinner is an ideal opportunity to meet old friends as well as making new contacts.
