Welcome to the Old Portmuthian Club. The OP Club's principal activity is facilitating contacts between former pupils of The Portsmouth Grammar School. The Club also publishes magazines and newsletters, organises social events in Portsmouth and elsewhere, and provides financial support to current and former pupils of PGS via the OP Charity.

The OP Club website has been designed in line with modern Internet technologies (XHTML, CSS, DOM) but your browser does not appear to properly support some of the required features.

So that you are not at a disadvantage, you will still see all of the information content but in a less organised form. However, you will have a better browsing experience if you upgrade to a modern browser.

London Society of OPs

Closure

The LSOP committee met on 10th November to consider:
- Average attendance for 2008 has been 8.5. Our target, to ensure a viable Society, is 10. Any fewer than this makes it too embarrassing to invite speakers to our meetings.
- 13 tickets have been sold for the Annual Dinner (last year we sold 23).
- No one has been nominated for the positions of President, Vice-President or Secretary for the year 2009-10.

The Committee decided, with enormous regret, to propose the following motion at the Society’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 9th February 2009 (at 7pm):

"That the London Society of Old Portmuthians be wound up as soon as reasonably practicable by the Committee of the Society. The remaining funds of the Society, after payment of debts (including the repayment of a £ 1,000 loan), will be donated to the Old Portmuthian Charity."

The Committee plans to hold another meeting on 12th January, so if you wish to comment on this, please contact Tim Kidd, Honorary Secretary timkidd@bluebowler.co.uk before then.
